Creativity in Every Bar: Residents Enjoy the Art of Soap Making

At Greenhill Aged Care, we’re always looking for new and meaningful ways to inspire creativity, encourage social connection and bring a little fun into every day. Our recent soap-making workshop did exactly that.

Residents embraced the opportunity to try something different, exploring a wonderful range of colours, fragrances, shapes and textures as they created their own unique handmade soaps. From selecting scents to mixing colours and pouring moulds, everyone enjoyed expressing their creativity while sharing plenty of laughs along the way.

Activities like soap making are about so much more than creating something beautiful to take home. They provide valuable therapeutic benefits by encouraging fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and dexterity, while stimulating the senses through touch, colour and fragrance. The process also promotes concentration, confidence and a wonderful sense of achievement as each resident sees their finished creation come to life.

Just as importantly, these shared experiences bring people together. Residents chatted, exchanged ideas, admired one another’s creations and enjoyed spending quality time in a relaxed and welcoming environment. It’s these everyday moments of connection that help create the strong sense of community Greenhill is known for.
