Harmony Day 2025 – At Greenhill Aged Care

Celebrating Harmony Day at Greenhill Aged Care – Everyone Belongs
Each year on March 21, Greenhill Aged Care joins Australians across the country in celebrating Harmony Day — a day that recognises our cultural diversity and promotes inclusiveness, respect, and a sense of belonging for everyone.
Harmony Day is part of Harmony Week, a time to reflect on how Australians from all different backgrounds can live and work together respectfully and inclusively. The central message of Harmony Week is clear and powerful: Everyone Belongs.
A Diverse and Inclusive Community
Greenhill Aged Care is a community made stronger by its diversity. Our staff and residents come from a wide range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds, each bringing something unique to the Greenhill family.
This mirrors the broader Australian aged care workforce, where more than 40% of Registered Nurses and Aged Care Workers were born overseas. At Greenhill, this multicultural mix brings new ideas, stories, foods, and traditions into daily life — creating a vibrant and caring environment for all.
How We Celebrated
To mark Harmony Day 2025, we have hosted a series of meaningful and joyful activities designed to celebrate our different backgrounds and bring people together;
- Arts, Crafts and Decorating: In the lead-up to Harmony Day, residents participated in arts and crafts sessions to create colourful decorations that now brighten up the common areas of the home. From hand-painted banners to paper chain garlands, the home was transformed into a vibrant space reflecting the theme of diversity and unity.
- Harmony Morning Tea: A colourful spread of international treats was shared among residents, families, and staff — with many homemade by team members and their loved ones.
