Hillside Selected as Finalists in the innovAGEING National Awards

December 16, 2022

We are proud to announce that we reached the final of the innovAGEING National Awards, which find and celebrate innovative ways Aged Care providers are improving the lives of older Australians. We are proud to announce that we reached the final of the innovAGEING National Awards, which find and celebrate innovative ways Aged Care providers are improving the lives of older Australians.

The awards are open to anyone involved in Australian age-related services and they focus on teams who have achieved something consumer-centric or who have found an innovative approach they’d like to share. It’s about celebration but it also helps to showcase things that can make life better for everyday older Australians.

The awards have six categories, and Hillside was named as a finalist in the ‘Increasing Care and Service Productivity’ for the Brenna app. Co-created by us, The Brenna app is a simple way for family members to get updates on their loved ones by communicating with the Registered Nurses (RNs) who care for them. There are few things that feel more reassuring than an update on your loved-one, especially if you can’t be there in person.

We were honoured to be named alongside some of the most well-known care providers including Ausmed, Telstra Health and St Vincent’s Care. innovAGEING held a digital ceremony on the 24th of November 2022 that named Ausmed the winner for their digital passport that keeps track of care worker training. We’re proud to have been recognised and we’re also excited about the difference our Brenna app will continue to make.

We feel it’s a real game changer thanks to the following benefits:

  •  It can provide an easy-to-digest record of health updates
  • You can use it to communicate and coordinate appointments with your loved-one’s carer, and
  • It gives an easy reference for how your loved-one is doing overall.

We co-developed this app because we believe aged care is about taking each resident into account as a person. The app shows our commitment not only as a care facility, but also as an organisation who can improve age-related services for Australians and help their loved ones remain engaged in their care. We do this because we know that the support of loved ones improves outcomes and makes our work all the more effective.
